Believe it or not, there are some desserts we prepare at the Lyons' household that do not involve cocoa (not many, mind you, but a few). So from the best homemade ice cream you've ever tasted—and the easiest—to truly healthy fruit-based desserts, I plan to be sharing many more of our favorites.

Blue Ribbon Pumpkin Pie

Have a deep dish pie crust ready to go. I make mine from scratch, but my husband swears by the Pillsbury ones in the box.

Plop in large bowl & mix:

1/2 c sugar

1 1/2 t cinnamon

3/4 t ginger

1/4 t ground cloves

1/2 t allspice

Add remaining ingredients to the bowl, stirring after each addition:

1 egg

1/2 c molasses

1 can pumpkin

1 can sweetened condensed milk (Eagle Brand)

Pour into pie crust and bake at

375° for 30 minutes and

325° for 35-40 minutes!

Totally delish. Very rich. What's not to love? It's basically sugar, spices, pumpkin and more sugar!

Larissa's Homemade Ice Cream

1/2 gallon whole milk (I use organic)
3 (count 'em three) cans of Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed milk
3 Tbls vanilla
Mix in ice cream freezer (but make sure the cat's out first!)
Enjoy!!

Hmmm, should I admit that this ice cream goes great with basic cereal for a truly yummy, cool breakfast???  Probably not! :)
