Late March 2009
Late March 2009 - Wowzers,
since that last update it seems like a lot has happened! :) Alyssa &
I pulled together and sent out the snippets and excerpts for Tied
Between Two Lovers which, at least for a couple more weeks, I'll
leave posted here so if you missed any,
you can still catch them. The best part I think is being able to see
how she and I envisioned the characters. Well, that and the drooling
the men and sexy excerpts tend to induce. :-)
 AWESOME REVIEW
The May issue of
Romantic Times just came out and Deceived by Desire received
a spectacular 4½ star review which I'm positively thrilled with and
just had to share: This deliciously wicked Regency romp is an
irresistible tale that weaves shapeshifting lions with clairvoyance
and steamy sex...an ingeniously constructed plot...Laced with wit,
scandal and true love, it's a wonderfully entertaining escape.
Too cool! She
complimented my plotting...and that's the hardest part for me!
BIG CONTEST
Until April 20th, you
can enter the What's in Your Duffel? contest. It's a pretty
neat concept and so are the prizes!—if I do say so myself. :-) I've
already received several fun entries and am looking forward to
reading more. I'll post the details below.
READER REVIEWS
I'm not sure whether
everyone is aware of the new Ellora's Cave website. It's now under
the name of the parent company,
Jasmine Jade, and here's the beautiful part—not only can you
search both descriptions and titles by keyword, but they also allow
for reader reviews. Other than buying our books ;-)
I think one of the best ways
readers can support their favorite authors is by leaving glowing
reviews of the books you love. I'm also happy to put reader reviews
on my website, so if you ever have a comment you'd like to share,
e-mail me and I'll be thrilled to post it.

Given that she’s been
tied up, kidnapped, and dumped at a dumpy plantation, Juliana Reed
figures her investigative tendencies are more than justified as she
roots though soldier Cord Ramsey’s duffel bag. So what’s in there?
To celebrate
the release of Tied Between Two Lovers, we want to know…
What’s in YOUR duffel? Specifically,
what three items are in your duffel bag? Send us your creative answers! One winner will receive the contents of Cord’s—Red Hots,
a box of condoms and a gorgeous, bound journal (without
Cord's scribbling, of course!).

March/April 2009
March/April 2009 - I know I
posted the happy dancing chicken directly after the contest :-) but I
still want to extend a HUGE and hearty THANK YOU to everyone who
supported me and voted for my story in the recent BetterSex.com contest. I'm still a bit stunned that the judges picked my story
for the grand prize, and so very happy over the honor (and the prize
itself!).
BOOK NEWS
Now it's time to move on
to current and upcoming Book news! Over two years in the writing,
rewriting and editing,
Tied Between Two Lovers releases next week...Friday, March 20th.
HOORAY!! To celebrate, and tantalize you with tidbits, Alyssa and I have
come up with:
TEN DAYS OF TIED!
In celebration of our upcoming Ellora's Cave release Tied
Between Two Lovers, stay tuned for ten days of character
introductions, exclusive excerpts, and even a couple
giveaways! Join

Yahoo group to receive each new tidbit. Ten days of Tied
begins Wednesday, March 11th!
Now I might get crazy and
decide to post some of the snippets and pictures and excerpts here, but I doubt it...the
discs between L4-L5 and L5-S1 (for
anyone who's never had back issues, those are the designations for
vertebrae in the low back) have been limiting me to sitting at the
computer for approximately 12 minutes out of every 70, which means if
I'm ever going to get my next story finished, that's where I
should be spending my time! [Let's have a loud ARGH-POOEY! on back
pain!!] I keep telling Mr. Lyons I
should have married a masseuse. Needless to say, that's not a comment
that goes over well. ;-)

 Guess
what we just got? The AWESOME cover for the first Bottoms Up
story, Restrain Me...think of sexy cowboys and the women they tame! Giddyup!
Alyssa is fast at work on
the next story as I speak and you read. :-) Once she gets the draft
completed, it'll be my turn to do my thing. Anyone who wants to e-mail
and bug her to hurry has my permission—just don't tell her I said that!
We'll share more details about the Bottoms Up ranch and series in
the near future.

Question: You also
have a book, cowritten with Alyssa Brooks, called Tied
Between Two Lovers released this month. What can you tell us
about that?
Answer: Tied is our attempt (and success, in my humble opinion)
at writing the perfect tri-monogamous relationship. Not only
does the heroine emotionally fall for both heroes (one scarred
on the outside, the other on the inside), but all three
characters come to depend on each other and the strength of
their love is what enables them to grow. Of course, there are
countless sexy encounters and orgasms sprinkled throughout ;-),
and even a dash of danger.
