OOPS! Well it looks like I now know what comes from a busy life and not much time on the computer—a website update that is days overdue! Sorry about that. December kind of caught me unaware. Same thing with Thanksgiving...all of a sudden, Mr. Lyons is talking about T-day Dinner, wanting to know what we're having, and I'm like, "Oh, when is it?" "In two days."  Eegads!

New contest is posted below and I can happily report that my writing is going very well. Soon I hope to be able and share more about TWO completed stories. Meanwhile, I'm giddy-excited that Ensnared comes out next month. It's purringly fantastic and I'm looking forward to sharing it with readers.

Isn't the cover for my upcoming Regency shapeshifter tale absolutely gorgeous?  I think so. :-) And I finally uploaded an excerpt on the Ensnared by Innocence book page, so check it out!

Some unexpected, fantastic news: almost a year after I submitted the story, GIMME SOME YANG was selected by Zane to appear in the upcoming Asian Spice erotic anthology, published by Atria Books/Simon and Schuster. A round of cheers for being patient! (not exactly my strong suit... so go me!)

On the writing front, I did (finally!) complete Tied Between Two Lovers.  But completing it doesn't mean it's finished... I've been working on the somewhat arduous task of going through the 300+ comments I left for myself during the writing phase and tying together all of the loose ends. Soon... soon... I hope to finish this one soon... (my latest writing mantra).

On a serious note, I want to recognize a wonderful little being who was with Mr. Lyons and I for only a short time.

Living in the country and having outside pets, even ones that have a job (to de-mice the place), doesn't make it any easier when things in nature happen and they don't return home one night. Nothing except time takes the hurt away, but knowing that you've made their time on earth enjoyable, filled with love and catnip, helps.

Yay! I'm happy to report Alyssa and I received our beautiful cover for the Halloween-themed Candy Corn & Cocky Kisses, and what a handsome fellow. ;-) I shared with my mom that after this story was finished, I read it three entire times, just enjoying it. I think I might have convinced her to finally give one of my sexy books a try.

This month I'm featured at The Romance Studio. If you'd like to read what I enjoy doing with cereal boxes and maps, check out the interview.

On Saturday, October 13th between 6:00-9pm CST/ 7:00-10pm EST, Alyssa and I will be chatting at the Ellora's Cave chat group: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ellorascavechat/. We plan on having a fun time that includes at least one scavenger hunt and a prize or two, so come join us.  :-)

"Master Fluff" (otherwise known as Klingon) has been hanging around the house in all sorts of new and unusual places as we turn everything upside down, inside out and backwards, ripping out some disgustingly grody (Mr. Lyons swears I must be the only person on the planet still using that word...) carpet and replacing it with hard floors.

All of the disarray has definitely cut into my writing time, but I'm hoping for a new feel to my office once we're finished and mucho hours of productivity. I can report that I'm now working on the LAST chapter of Tied Between Two Lovers, just pages away from typing those  two tantalizing three-letter words "T-h-e E-n-d".  After that, Alyssa and I will jointly tackle the "tweaking" phase and soon have a wonderful (LONG) detailed story to submit to our editor. Whew and thank goodness—this one has been eating my lunch!

Whether it's All Souls' Day, All Hallows' Day, Samhain, Halloween or another Autumn holiday you celebrate, I hope it's wonderful! Tricks and Treats!

Whew—what a month.  August seemed to pass in a blur of busy, busy, and pain, as some of the FM symptoms raised their head and roared. I didn't get as much accomplished as I'd like, but the great news is I remained pretty darn upbeat despite things, and I did make some forward progress on a couple of stories (though not nearly as much as I'd hoped).

I received the wonderful news that Ensnared by Innocence will release in January and I completed the edits, which included adding several hundred words to one of Mr. Lyons' favorite sex scenes I've written.  Oh, the things one can do in a dark English garden...  :-)

Mrs Giggles reviewed Impure Longings the very weekend it came out and gave it an 87, which coming from the "Maxine" of book reviews, and accompanied by several really nice compliments, made for one squealingly happy author.

I received a care package from Alyssa which included a couple of zucchini from her garden—mailed almost 2000 miles across country! These are some of the biggest honkin' zukes I've ever seen, and she assured me they were only "mediums" because the larger ones wouldn't fit in the Priority flat rate box.

And yes, Princess finally did began using her pink fluffy bed—when it wasn't occupied by her brothers, Beanies, or garden vegetables. (See last month's entry if you have no clue what I'm talking about.)

Cast the leads! - Winner Announced 
The variety of actors suggested for the main roles in the Impure Longings "movie" was terrific. Renny submitted the winning entry, chosen primarily for the thoughtful way she explained how she made her selections, which was great...she also sent in a picture of the actress.
