Howdy all!

Lots of information to share today, so I’ll get right to it.

James Avery $20 Giveaway

I’ve long been a customer of James Avery, a Texas-based jewelry designer, having purchased my first “dangle ring” (in the shape of Texas, no less) back in junior high I think. I’m likely dating myself here 😉 – no idea whether dangle rings are still a thing or not.

The company just sent me a $20 promo good on ANYTHING, either in person or online. It’s good through September 28 and I will happily share the code or mail the promo card to the first person that emails, from the US, and says they will use it. [I’ll update this page at the top the minute it’s been claimed; please check here before emailing – thanks!]

Mistress in the Making Trilogy – Releasing September 2020

I’m so thrilled with how these stories turned out. It’s been a long wait for some readers – thank you for your patience! And I hope the overall story arc of Daniel and Thea makes you as happy as it does me.

Some readers may not know that I struggle with “invisible” disabilities – some painful autoimmune conditions that have affected my life for over twenty-five years. From sitting at a computer, to typing (which is all but impossible – hence, why use dictation software), as well as difficulty speaking at times – which mitigates the dictation and slows down story progress – I’m familiar with the frustrations of having something to say without the physical means to get it out. Though stuttering isn’t a major problem of mine (it’s more muscular for me), writing a hero who has difficulty speaking really resonated and hit home.

The first third of their story, SEDUCTIVE SILENCE, releases this coming Tuesday, September 8, and the subsequent two titles, a week later, LUSTY LETTERS on the 15th and DARING DECLARATIONS on September 22.

All three are currently available for .99¢ via preorder at Amazon only (ebook versions; print versions are available everywhere).

In three months, by late December or very early January, the ebooks will be available at all additional retailers. I’ll run the official Review ARCS on these then, so if anyone is a customer at Amazon and reads these and likes them, it would mean the world if you would please leave a review. Thank you.

The Pirate's Pleasure cover

Fresh from rejecting yet another suitor (determined to resist Mama’s pressure to accept anyone—“Please, dear, before you’re so far on the shelf it topples!”),  Lady Roberta convenes a weekly writing group comprised of her three closest friends. Their literary efforts soon evolve—or devolve, depending upon one’s point of view—from composing insipid lines of poetry to more erotic endeavors.

Meet the ladies and read The Pirate’s Pleasure, the first Titillating Tale.

4000 words • Complete Story • Exclusive.  Also includes excerpt from the upcoming Mistress in the Making Trilogy.

Current subscribers who’d like to read can download the EPUB or MOBI here: [links to ebooks provided in subscriber emails; new readers sign up here for your copy]

Lady Scandal is part of a prize pack including FIFTY make-you-laugh romantic comedies (and who doesn’t need that these days?!) and an e-reader! All you need is your email address to enter, with the option of joining certain author’s newsletters. It’s that easy. 🙂

The contest runs for another 4+ days. Good luck!

Stay Sane and Healthy

During these unprecedented crazy-arse times, I’m working to maintain inner peace and mental motivation. Fortunately, I’ve avoided binge eating brownies (a true accomplishment!) but am *still* struggling to get my meditation practice back up and running.

I hope you and your family are maintaining whatever healthy boundaries and habits you can. Peace out.

Steamy Romance Short Stories

Do you like reading a book in one sitting? Having fully fleshed-out characters, with personalities and goals, that find their love in under an hour? If so, I have got a fun trio of contemporary steamy romance for you!

Two of these titles are contest winners and all three have received rave reviews on Goodreads and Bookbub in the days leading up to publication, averaging 4.5 and 4.6 out of five stars, from thirteen or more readers each!

Is instalove your thing?

I’m new to the concept, but must’ve been hiding under a rock, as several reviewers have applied that term to my short-story books.

Howdy all!

You know why they call it the Dog Days of Summer, right? Because the cats wouldn’t stand for it!

Okay, I can hear the groaning from here. >^..^< Though I always thought the phrase just referred to dogs lazing around during the heat, a.k.a. long afternoon siestas, it turns out the phrase originated during ancient times from the Greeks and Romans, who were referring to the constellation Canis Major, where the brightest star in the sky, Sirius, makes its home and appears early morning in July.

Now that we all learned something ;-), a couple of Book Announcements:

Romantic Erotica ARCs Available

Releasing July 28, 2020

First up, releasing at the end of the month are three romantic erotica “books” (I always struggle calling short stories books). These are standalone stories currently available via Booksprout for folks interested in reviewing.

Braving Donovan’s
No Guts, No Gasms
A Heart for Adam and Rick

Note: Each story is the length of 2-3 standard chapters. Heart and No Guts are both reissues while Braving Donovan’s is a significantly expanded version of the earlier Innocent Corruption.

Regency Sale

A quick heads-up: both Lady Scandal and Miss Isabella Thaws a Frosty Lord are available for $0.99 for a limited time.

Is Christmas in July really a thing?

The idea of Christmas in July has totally become a thing, but even before it was, I used to wish I could celebrate Christmas all year long. As a kid, I really enjoyed the whole “feel” of Christmas. This was back when October was Halloween, November was harvest and Thanksgiving, and it wasn’t until December that the Christmas music and Christmas decorations made an appearance either in homes – or shopping venues.

I’ve long been a sucker for a good holiday movie, starting with White Christmas when I was really young, watching reruns with my mom, and now devouring the streaming options (something I used to have to purchase on DVD. 🙂 )

Two recent favorites are The Spirit of Christmas and The Nine Lives of Christmas. What’s not to love? Between these two, you have a hunky, historical hero, cats, fun female leads, a bit of time travel and paranormal, a fireman – complete with firehouse – and, did I mention, cats?!

If you’re someone who enjoys the feeling of Christmas all year long, no matter what time of year – or if you’re just so stinkin’ hot from the middle of summer, I hope you’ll give Miss Isabella Thaws a Frosty Lord a read.

It’s a lighthearted, feel-good Regency novella that takes place during the official Twelve Days of Christmas – from December 25 through January 5. There’re a couple of angels and a hint of paranormal, but the main focus is a blind heroine and the abrupt Lord Frostwood who takes an interest in her while they’re both attending the same Regency house party.

Available in e-book, paperback and large print at retailers throughout, and coming in audio this fall, which I am absolutely over the moon about.

Looking for ARC Readers

Do you like your historical romance to sound “historical”? Not written just like  people talk nowadays, but supposedly set in the past?

When people ask me what I write, and they aren’t familiar with the Regency period, I tend to tell them “sexy Jane Austen”. Paying close attention to word choice, and attempting to only use words that were documented as part of the English language by 1850 or before, I love composing emotional, humorous Regency stories of love.

The tamest thing I’ve written, Miss IsabellaThaws a Frosty Lord, is currently available via Booksprout for free to reviewers.

If you’re looking to join my Advanced Review/Launch Team, I’d love to hear from you!
