Egad, huh? That about sums up 2020, to my way of thinking. A while back, I became aware of folks focusing on a Word of the Year, choosing a motivating theme that would guide their thoughts and decisions throughout the year. Superior, standout words chosen with care such as GRATITUDE, COURAGE or THRIVE.
Me? I’ve decided my retroactive Word of the Year is definitely EGAD. We’ve all been through so much season after season lately, and the stress seems to be ramping up instead of abating. It might be time to finally get that meditation practice front and center and focus on some mental and energetic “Stillness” instead of the chaos that seems to pepper the air with such ease. That’s my goal moving forward, anyway.
Miss Isabella Thaws a Frosty Lord remains one of my absolute favorite romances. This holiday season, theaudio is available for the first time – a phenomenal performance by Gary Furlong.
Join grumpy Lord Frostwood and spunky Isabella as they journey through her blindness – and his missteps – on their way toward true love.
5 Stars – Verified Review
“I have so loved this book! I admit to rereading this book numerous times, and loving it every single time. Izzybelle and Frost are perfect together, a true love of soul mates, with humor by the bucket full thrown in. I can only say one thing buy it, read it, and be with me in asking for this author to get writing. One final thing please give me a Frost, he to me was the perfect man.”

Muses on Writing – Glancing Back and Looking Forward
Twenty-twenty has brought about a wild ride for everyone, and writing and publishing was no different. We saw a relaunch of the Larissa Lyons’ brand of Fun and Sexy Regency Romance and the introduction of Larissa Lynx with Sexy Contemporary Romance. With nearly 300,000 words spanning eleven titles, it’s been busy.Published this year were both old favorites with new covers (Lady Scandal and Miss Isabella Thaws a Frosty Lord) as well as brand new books, including Her Three Studs and the Mistress in the Making sexy Regency romance trilogy. Don’t let anybody fool you – “publishing” is hard work. And the landscape has changed so much the last few years. I’m more than ready to work on some new things next. I miss focusing on writing!
Coming up in 2021, we’re aiming for a couple more books under each name. (Anyone who enters the Winter contest has a chance to offer input about what gets worked on – because, yes, ADD brain and computer limitations make it hard to do everything I want to, so I’m happy for the feedback!)
Family Wise (asses) 😉
My awesome father turned 82! Another egad – as he’s a vibrant, entertaining smartass who exercises the rest of the family into the ground. He also thinks he’s the best Spades Player Ever, but the rest of the family, who won most of the (albeit, few) tournaments this year, would beg to differ. 😉Mr. Lyons’ family – who live some distance away – are in the midst of Covid struggles, and have been for weeks. Prayers and positive thoughts welcome.
This season find your joy wherever you can (Edward’s Chocolate Cream pie, anyone?). Take care of yourself (snuggling with kitties always helps) and stay happy and healthy!

-Latest Release – Power Play Hockey Series
-Stay Sane and Healthy (Eat Pie for Mental Health)
What a year it’s been, for everyone. In the last few days, Mr. Lyons has been hard at work, first with washing-machine repair and now replacing our water heater. It lasted twenty years, thank goodness, but still, cold showers in November aren’t exactly my cup of hot tea. 😉
Rango’s getting ready for Thanksgiving, showing everyone his turkey imitation, while Sassy wanted to make sure you all know that she likes to help with interior decorating, especially proper rug placement.
Latest Release – Power Players Hockey Series
On the book-release front, we’ve got a couple of steamy hockey books. My Two-Stud Stand started out as a simple sex-with-strangers challenge, with Rurik as the Hero. Shocked me to the core when he got Carolina to his hotel room and his roommate joined in! This story was so much fun to write and I wasn’t ready to let go of these characters, not without learning more about them.
In the novel-length Her Three Studs, Jeff starts to feel possessive sooner than Carolina – or I – ever expected. Both of these are now available at a retail outlet near you. 🙂
5 “Just Loved It!! This story has a little of everything, sweet romance, sexy overbearing and frustrating alpha males and a beautiful woman who has the right heart and spirit. Thoroughly enjoying and entertaining. Just Loved It!!” Kathleen B on Her Three Studs
5 “OMG. I couldn’t put it down. I really loved this story and I am quickly becoming a fan of Larissa Lynx. I love a good reverse harem story, keep up the great work.” m..28 on My Two-Stud Stand
Larissa Lyons – What’s up Next?
After the release of the free Pirate’s Pleasure, I’ve had a couple inquiries about the Regency Ladies’ Titillating Tales – when are they going to be available? Though significantly shorter versions were shared through my newsletter back in the mid-2000s, I’ve done a complete overhaul and rewrite, as well as character expansion on these. I just received the entire group back from an editor, with some great suggestions. Once those are incorporated, it’s off to proofreading then release!Meanwhile, I’ve been doing some dictating on the women’s individual “real life” stories, and I’m excited about how they’re going.
Stay Sane and Healthy
During these unprecedented crazy-arse times, I’m working to maintain inner peace and mental motivation. Fortunately, I’ve avoided binge eating brownies (especially since I discovered Edward’s Pies – so good, they’re scary), but I’m *still* struggling to get my meditation practice back up and running.
I hope you and your family are maintaining whatever healthy boundaries and habits you can. Peace out.
The idea of Christmas in July has totally become a thing, but even before it was, I used to wish I could celebrate Christmas all year long. As a kid, I really enjoyed the whole “feel” of Christmas. This was back when October was Halloween, November was harvest and Thanksgiving, and it wasn’t until December that the Christmas music and Christmas decorations made an appearance either in homes – or shopping venues.
I’ve long been a sucker for a good holiday movie, starting with White Christmas when I was really young, watching reruns with my mom, and now devouring the streaming options (something I used to have to purchase on DVD. 🙂 )
Two recent favorites are The Spirit of Christmas and The Nine Lives of Christmas. What’s not to love? Between these two, you have a hunky, historical hero, cats, fun female leads, a bit of time travel and paranormal, a fireman – complete with firehouse – and, did I mention, cats?!
If you’re someone who enjoys the feeling of Christmas all year long, no matter what time of year – or if you’re just so stinkin’ hot from the middle of summer, I hope you’ll give Miss Isabella Thaws a Frosty Lord a read.
It’s a lighthearted, feel-good Regency novella that takes place during the official Twelve Days of Christmas – from December 25 through January 5. There’re a couple of angels and a hint of paranormal, but the main focus is a blind heroine and the abrupt Lord Frostwood who takes an interest in her while they’re both attending the same Regency house party.
Available in e-book, paperback and large print at retailers throughout, and coming in audio this fall, which I am absolutely over the moon about.
After wanting to do a Large-Print edition for years, I’m tickled to announce that my best-reviewed book to date, Miss Isabella Thaws a Frosty Lord, will be coming out in large print next month. Just in time to celebrate Christmas in July. 😉
For anyone who likes authentic-sounding historical romance, but may not be overly fond of super sexy stuff, Miss Isabella might be right up your alley. It’s my tamest book, and reviewers compared the style and “caliber”– to my surprise and immense delight – to books by both Jane Austen and Carla Kelly, thrilling me to no end.
